Connect your server to other storage devices via USB, SMB, and FTP to browse and ingest via the web app.

Ingest connections are read-only. This means you can only pull from them, i.e. transfer TO your server. There is no way to write, or push through these connections.
USB

USB connections are physical and direct. Once you plug in a device, it will automatically show up. No configuration necessary.
- Plug a USB device into one of the ports on your creative.space node.
- Go to the Ingest tab on the Spaces page of the web app.
- The device will appear for your to browse, inspect, download, and copy from.
SMB

On local networks, SMB can be a very efficient transfer method. However, FTP can be faster for remote connections. However, SMB gives you the ability to inspect and download media files without needing to transfer first.
- Go to the Ingest tab on the Spaces page of the web app.
- Click on the ‘Gear’ icon to configure connections for your node.
- Click on ‘SMB’.
- Fill in the necessary fields to configure the settings.
- Nickname - What will by used as the display name for the connection.
- Ingest Host - The IP address or DNS name that the server can reach your target at.
- Path - This is the name of the SMB share on that server.
- Username and Password - The login credentials you use to access this target.
- Anonymous Login - Access as a Guest, i.e. without a login, if the target allows this.
- SMB Protocol Version - Downgrade the version to support connection to legacy servers.
- Group Permission - To share this connection with your team, select a group and add the users you want to have access.
- Click on ‘Save’ to add the connection.

If you cannot add the connection, there could be several reasons: illegal characters, case sensitivity, or additional settings that need to be configured.Setting up MacOS file sharing

For MacOS file sharing, the username you need to use is the name of your ‘Home’ folder, which is also the name of your user folder under ‘Macintosh HD’ > ‘Users’.
FTP

High-performance transfers from any FTP server, including other creative.space servers, RED cameras, and many ingest devices.
- Go to the Ingest tab on the Spaces page of the web app.
- Click on the ‘Gear’ icon to configure connections for your node.
- Click on ‘FTP’, unless you are connecting to a Blackmagic Design HyperDeck.
- Fill in the necessary fields to configure the settings.
- Nickname - What will by used as the display name for the connection.
- Ingest Host - The IP address or DNS name that the server can reach your target at.
- Username and Password - The login credentials you use to access this target. For a creative.space server, the login you use for the web and desktop apps.
- Anonymous Login - Access as a Guest, i.e. without a login, if the target allows this.
- Secure - Only choose this option if you know the target FTP server supports it.
- Click on ‘Save’ to add the connection.
HyperDeck

Special FTP support streamlines ingest from multiple Blackmagic Design HyperDecks and/or ATEM Mini series live switchers, which include the same FTP server.

- Go to the Ingest tab on the Spaces page of the web app.
- Click on the ‘Gear’ icon to configure connections for your node.
- Click on ‘HyperDeck’.
- Click on ‘Add’.
- Fill in the necessary fields to configure the settings.
- Name - Give the HyperDeck a nickname, which we suggest you also use to label the device physically and in the Blackmagic Design software.
- IP - The IP address or DNS name that the server can reach your target at on your local network or over a VPN.
- Groups - To share this connection with your team, select groups and add the users you want to have access.
- Click on ‘Add’.
- Repeat Steps 5-7 to add additional HyperDecks and/or ATEM Mini devices.
