A card interface for editing permissions.
Space Permissions
Right click on a space and select ‘View Share’ to edit the share permissions.
Understand the Interface
- Share Path - The SMB or AFP path for the share used for mounting it to your computer.
- Share Type - The protocol used for sharing, which should be SMB unless you are making a special share for use with MacOS Time Machine.
- Allowed Groups - Add groups and give them read, write, and/or no access. This is the recommended way to grant access.
- Allowed Users - Add users and give them read, write, and/or no access. Use groups for granting access whenever possible, unless you need to override group permissions.
- Recursive - Apply the permissions to the entire file tree. Otherwise, saving the permissions will only affect the currently selected space and new files and folder created at the root.
- Browsable - Allows the space to be listed as a share when connecting to the server on the network.
- Writable - Allows users to write to the space.
- Users Connected - Displays the information about each user connected to the space and the IP address they are connected from.
